Men’s graphic T-shirts (Great gifts)

men's graphic tees

I love t-shirts. My husband is always wearing them so I say go for an artful graphic look instead of just plain solids or stripes. I’m a big fan of Poketo and Chocosho, I’ve posted about some of their other items in the past. Both are just splendid places to get some great gear and other aesthetically pleasing items online. I’m still in love with these unique t-shirts as well.

A Maquette reader/blogger AdamX told me about another gift for men. It’s possibly the funniest and most practical I’ve ever seen. Prepare to smile…heartily.

Onyx: sultry slick

onyx jewelry

I rarely wear black when it comes to clothing, save my puffy winter coat. It just does not do much for my fair skin. When it comes to jewelry I tend toward greens and yellows and even pinks, but I’m loving these graphic onyx pieces. They’re shiny and bold, dare I say bad-ass? The Alexis Bittar one is a real gem (no pun intended).
1. R Jewellery at Erie Basin
2. Alexis Bittar (my favorite of the lot)
3. Miguel Ases Collection at Fragments

All under $300, good gifts for a special someone or yourself if you are feeling bold and daring.

Here’s more cool black stuff from Trust your Style. Hope MJM finds her kitty.

Tomorrow I have a male centric post! So stay tuned. Next week I start work on my gift guide with great finds for reasonable prices from hot shops like Poketo, Shiny Squirrel, Uppercase…and more.

Drawmo!

overcoat girl illustration

Drawmo! is a group blog/flickr stream started by India Amos. You can join and post a drawing every day, giving you the venue and impetus to challenge yourself to draw draw draw. I don’t know about you, but I’m taking the challenge. A drawing a day? I can do that!

I found out about Drawmo! when they linked to some drawings I posted about earlier. I’m starting first thing in December and plan to do a solid month straight.

In the meantime, I’m working on my portfolio and doing more illustrations. Some are about to be published in an online magazine. I’ll let you know when that happens.

How do you like this one? It’s super 80’s.

Multi media post: Andrew Sloat video and David Moldawer podcast

andrew sloat video

Our friend, Andrew Sloat, a very talented designer and videographer, makes compelling work using typography and movement. It’ll be better if I show instead of tell: 22nd Amendment video by Andrew Sloat, with music by our other friend and talented composer/musician Roland Satterwhite.

My talented husband/personal Web guru David Moldawer is a book editor and new media expert with multiple blogs and podcasts for work and personal ends. His main podcast is Moldawer in the Morning.

Here’s an episode for your listening pleasure where Dave had me on as his guest: Listen!

My favorite Fifi (a very stylish bunny)

Fifi Lapin

I keep talking about gifts in all my posts. I think I’ll need to make a final list of all the items I’ve mentioned in the last week and then up through the holidays. I just figured out what I want. I’m going to ask my husband for this extravagant gift. It’s Fifi! I’m a huge fan of Fifi Lapin. She has so much style and class. Furthermore, her wardrobe is impeccable. I think I’ll always smile when I look at my print. Here’s where you can buy Fifi. Here’s what Fifi’s creator says about her. Here’s where you can keep up to date on Fifi’s outfits and adventures.

Here’re some photos from a lovely Thanksgiving weekend:
