Happy Halloween!

Halloween beauties

Don’t forget you can download my Halloween card designs for free!

Thank you Lisa from Bust Magazine for posting my cards on the Bust blog!

Thanks NOTCOT for posting about them! Congrats NOTCOT.org for ranking in the Home Rejuvenation 10 Most Influential Design Blogs! Anna and Sean the talented duo of Sub-Studio / NOTCOT contributors were lovely enough to post my cards.

Also the wonderful Jen at Indie Fixx included me in this incredibly spookily crafty Halloween round-up. It’s not too late to check it out and whip something up for the big night.

I think someone else posted too….please let me know so I can thank you here! I don’t want to neglect you!

Happy Halloween, have fun and be safe! Safe as in don’t eat yourself into a sugar stooper and fall asleep on the sidewalk. Oh and check out Ez’s post over at Creature Comforts. She rounded up objects that would be good for Halloween but also transcend it (that’s why it’s ok for my to post about them on the actual day). Here’s the link to “Too Cool for Ghoul“.

Truant Magazine: The travel magazine curated by local creatives

I was really excited to contribute to the first edition of Truant Magazine. Anything Erin Loechner of Design For Mankind does is wonderful. I adore her. Truant is an extension of Mankind Mag and is edited and chief-ed by Jessica of Shiny Squirrel blog/shop.

Truant Magazine’s debut issue showcases a collection of shoppes, eateries, entertainment venues and neighborhoods curated by local creatives in New York (I contributed illustration some of which you see above and my fav New York spots so look for my pages!). In addition, the travel magazine will feature walking tours of some of New York City’s hidden gems. It’s only $2 to download. Contributors include Abbey, Joanna, Kate, Christine, Anna + Sean, and many more. Other cities will follow and a holiday guide will be coming out soon too.

Download your copy here. With your purchase you will receive some luggage tags I designed and a travel list penned by Erin! You can also adorn your blog with your own Truant badge available here.

My Craft Magazine pattern printed by Spoonflower!

Craft Magazine pattern

I was so excited when the superbly wonderful art director over at Craft asked me to create a Craft Magazine pattern! What could possibly be more fun? I opened my mailbox this afternoon and there was the latest issue of Craft! I’m always excited to receive it but was especially thrilled to see how the pattern came out. Craft had it printed by Spoonflower. I can’t begin to say enough about Spoonflower (Holly was the first to suggest them to me).

Remember my starlet harlot pattern? They’re printing it up as we speak. They’re such an incredible company (husband and wife founded). I plan to work with them lots. Read about them here. I’ll do a more extensive post on them when my fabric comes in. For now, pick up the latest issue of Craft (on news stands Nov. 4th) and see what they have to say. Or check out the digital version here.

Here’s a sneak peek of the spread that features the Craft pattern printed so beautifully by Spoonflower!:

Gem like fashion treasures for Spring 2009…as I look for my parka

shiny and matte, unique hem...bright as a jewel
Here’s a little round up of some gem like fashion treasures for Spring 2009. Doesn’t that seem like ages away? I can’t even locate my parka and I’m already looking longingly at these delicate shifts. What’s the matter with me?!

I’m particularly drawn to the unusual hem lines, the mixture of matte and shiny, and the jewel tones. Oh and I suppose ankle straps are the thing. I’m into it.
