Rob Ryan Paper-Cuts

It’s funny, sometimes you learn a new word and then hear it in context all over the place. Same thing occurred recently with me and the paper-cut artist Rob Ryan. I picked up UK Vogue for a long train ride last weekend and read a story about his new shop in London. Then St. Jude’s sent me a press release about his holiday card and online gallery with them. I love his work so much. It’s all hand-cut so intricately. Here’s a little info on Ryan from St. Jude’s:

“Born in Cyprus in 1962, Robert Ryan is a paper-cut artist, print maker (Rob has an an MA in printmaking from the Royal College of Art) and illustrator, working for a range of clients including Vogue, Paul Smith and a number of book publishers.

All of Robert’s work is the result of painstaking hand-cutting of delicate papers. These intricate works are either sold in the paper-cut form or developed as limited edition screen prints.”

Hope you like his work as much as I do. I’d love to frame one of his pieces in my home. Time for a trip to London! Otherwise, I have my eye on this tile in his etsy shop.
