20/10 Vision at Gallery Hanahou

all you need is love_ samantha hahn
I’m thrilled to be part of a group art show with some of my absolute favorite artists from around the world to my back yard here in Brooklyn. Save the date if you will be in Manhattan on January 21tst from 7-9pm. Gallery Hanahou is located at 611 Broadway #730 (right off E. Houston).

20/10 Vision
Everyone knows that 20/20 vision is good, but 20/10 is even better. in January 2010, gallery hanahou is ringing in the new decade with a group show that doesn’t need to squint to see a better future.

“20/10 Vision” will comprise new, original artwork from more than 40 artists with the theme of positive visions for the new decade. The works in the show will be reasonably priced so that visitors can afford to start their new year with new art.

Sub-Studio Guest Post: Bosse Brass Figures

Bosse Brass Figures
Please welcome Anna of Sub-studio back to Maquette today!

Okay, so these might not actually be appropriate for a child, since babies will put almost anything in their mouths, but they are certainly appropriate for you and I, and would be super cute on some out-of-reach shelf in your kid’s bedroom. The Bosse Brass Figures are an awesome collection of miniatures (originally from the 1940s!) made out of brass. Walter Bosse polished off the patina on each animal to create expressions and details. Lovely and minimal.

I want them too Anna!  They’d look so great peeking out from a bookcase or even perched atop a mantle!

Thanks again for getting so many wonderful guest posts together for Maquette. I have been so happy to have them for days when baby Henry says “mom, pay attention to me instead of blogging”!!

Fields of Gold in Holland

I’m in aw of this field. I need to go to Holland immediately.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend.

We went to brunch with friends at a hip restaurant in Manhattan called Freeman’s Alley. It’s the 4th year getting together for holiday cheer there. We had a great time eating delicious food and exchanging gifts (I had: Poached eggs with roasted tomato, cheddar cheese grits and buttered toast). Then the big snow storm came and we admired it from the window of our cozy apartment. Next year we’ll go sledding in the park with Henry.
