Minka: A documentary about a farmhouse in Japan

Minka
I’m so thrilled to share some snap shots from what looks like the most beautiful film by a friend of mine (also a new mom) Davina Pardo called Minka.

Minka is a short documentary film about a remarkable Japanese farmhouse and the memories it contains. In 1967, an American journalist and his adopted Japanese son rescued the ancient house from the snow country of Japan, and their lives were forever changed. Minka is an intimate story about place, architecture, memory and the meaning of home.

The production company is in the midst of raising funds to cover post-production finishing costs – sound editing & mixing, color correction & online editing, graphics, and music composition. and create more content about the subjects of the film. Even a tiny contribution would be helpful but the fundraising is over at 2:34 so please give a dollar or $10

weekend-wear

I know it’s still the beginning half of the week but I have my sights set on the weekend already. I’m thinking this might be the perfect outfit for spending a crisp autumn day about town:

  1. Baggu backpack
  2. Sam Edelman: Farrell suade booties
  3. Madewell: Perfect Chambray shirt

Also pick up one of my fabric (with custom design) hand-bound journals to keep in your backpack for notes and sketches!

I have so much to be thankful for this holiday: A great career, dear friends, this blog with wonderful readers and most of all…my family.

I hope you have a wonderful and delicious holiday if you are celebrating. If not, I still hope you have something wonderful in your life to be thankful for.

Daily drawing: Looking at you

waiting

Did this one yesterday before heading out (when the baby went to sleep) with my two best friends. Catching up is the best. I love them.

In other news, my agency has launched a food illustration category in my section on their site!
