Tidbits of planet Earth

You know what? I’m smitten by this planet. Sometimes I look around and am just utterly amazed at how varied it can be from New York gritty city to calm fields in Sweden to lush lavendar fields in the south of France. Sometimes a photo just completely transports you to a place.

Beach bag additionals

Untitled-3

Sunnies-check, suntan lotion–check, towel–check….I’m sure we’ve all ready about a million magazine articles about beach essentials.

Here’s my little beachy list of other goodies worth packing for a chill day on the beach:
The beach bag itself, I love this simple tote by Rag & Bone. It looks like it can hold a bunch of essentials and additionals as I like to call them.

Next up, snack! I kinda like soggy peanut butter sandwiches but last weekend when I went to the beach my friends and I munched on fresh peaches. I have to tell you they were so refreshing and sweet and a nice antidote to all that salty air and surf.

Going to the beach is such a treat so why not fully indulge and take along one of these delectable Mary & Matt chocolate bar to share (best packaging ever).

I love the warm sun on my back while I flip through a stack of glossies. Why not catch up on your indie magazine reads. Apartamento is great and I also love Stella, Kinfolk and Remedy.

Salty skin feels magical when you are on the beach but when you are ready to leave for the evening why not refresh your skin with Fresh Sugar Body Oil. It’s a super lightweight blend of primrose, sweet almond, apricot kernel, jojoba, and exotic citrus oils. It leaves behind a little sheen so your healthy glow will stand out.

One Kings Lane print sale

daily drawing: is summer really over?

I’m excited to share that my work is available on One Kings Lane. It’s an amazingly curated site for home decor items. It feels more clean and less crowded than similiar sites of the same ilk. Anyway, my work will be up for a short while (it’s so easy to sign up for the site, it took me like 2 minutes total fyi). It’s especially cool that they frame the pieces. It’s such a pain in the neck to do it yourself. Here’s an invitation to the site.

A super sweet customer already wrote to tell me she picked up the piece above (but without the messy edges–that one is the original). It just screams summer no?

Magical weekend

Sorry for the delayed post. Yesterday was an insane day of catch up. I spent Saturday in the Hamptons with my oldest and best friends. Really there is nothing like spending time with them. We laughed and talked the whole time and it felt like we were 12 again. The weather was amazing and there’s something really magical about the light in the Hamptons and the sweet smell of honeysuckle everywhere. We rode bikes to the beach, swam in the chilly and refreshing water, gabbed while looking at New York Magazine’s party page and after dinner we layed on the deck stargazing. It was too short and too fun. Here are a few snaps.

Welcome summer!

summer

There’s something about summer that just screams freedom. It must be that growing up that’s when school let out. It’s just such a magical season. I’m excited to sneak away for an overnight this weekend to Amagansett with my best girlfriends in the universe. We’ll ride bikes to the beach, laugh and probably read some smutty magazines. I am working like a dog today and tonight to finish everything on my plate so that I can regroup a little before it all starts up again next week.
