Happy New Year! Thank you all so much for reading Maquette in 2013 and following along with my book news. It’s been a banner year. But to be honest I have not really taken a moment to reflect or even really relish the good things that have happened.

One of the things I want to work on this year is enjoying what is already in place, relishing the small moments of each day instead of always pushing forward and looking to the future.

Don’t get my wrong, I think goals and plans are grand. I just also think it’s also important to realize that at this very moment we’re living our goals of the past. It’s important to recognize where we’ve been, where we want to go and where we currently are. Why not try to enjoy all of that rather than having regrets about the past and forgetting to appreciate the life you’re in today by always looking at tomorrow?

So here’s what I resolve this year (in addition to goals, hopes and plans for the future), I will aim to wake up each day and be content with where I am TODAY.
